Wednesday Addams is back in Season 2 Part 1, but Lady Gaga is nowhere to be seen. So, when can we expect Mother Monster to show up, and who is she playing in the Netflix series?
After a long three-year wait, Wednesday has returned to Nevermore, with the rest of the Addams family in tow and a new mystery to solve. While all of the fan faves are back – including Enid, Tyler, and Bianca – Xavier doesn’t return this semester.

But there are plenty of newcomers in his place, including Joanna Lumley as Grandmama Hester Frump, Evie Templeton as fangirl Agnes, Steve Buscemi as the new Principal Dort, and Billie Piper as music teacher Isadora Capri.
But arguably none are quite as hyped as Lady Gaga, who’s undoubtedly a perfect match for Wednesday’s wonderfully weird world. Sadly, we’re going to have to wait for her debut. Warning: spoilers ahead for Part 1!

When will Lady Gaga be in Wednesday Season 2?
Obviously, Lady Gaga will be appearing in Wednesday Season 2 Part 2 – but we can expect her to show up in the first episode of the final batch.

There are a couple of reasons for this, the first being a theory related to the fact that Lady Gaga’s character is Rosaline Rotwood, who’s described as “a legendary Nevermore teacher who crosses paths with Wednesday.”
Now, since Wednesday appears to die in the Part 1 finale, it could very well be that she enters the spirit realm temporarily and meets Rosaline (who’s “legendary” status at the very least implies she’s dead).

Gaga’s Nevermore teacher might act as a spirit guide, replacing Goody Addams after the events of Season 1. Morticia did tell Wednesday that she needed a new guide, after all, but she can’t enlist the help of her mother as she’s a dove, not a raven.
Before we go any further, let it be known that it’s highly unlikely Wednesday will die full time – Netflix has already renewed the show for Season 3. Perhaps Rosaline simply helps her throughout the process of understanding and controlling her powers.

If this does turn out to be true, then the first episode of Part 2 will deal with the fallout of Wednesday’s ‘death’, meaning we’ll be introduced to Lady Gaga’s character. Of course, this is speculation at this stage, but that’s our educated guess.
Who is Aunt Ophelia?
Morticia’s sister, Aunt Ophelia, gets plenty of mentions in Wednesday Season 2, suggesting she may be making an appearance in Part 2. We previously predicted that she’d be played by Lady Gaga, but alas – unless Netflix is playing a trick on us, Mother Monster is Rosaline.

However, there may be another clue. You see, in the Part 1 finale, Wednesday uncovers LOIS (Long-term Outcast Integration Study) – a cruel, long-running project launched by normie Augustus Stonehurst, who kept a selection of outcasts as living experiments.
His daughter, Judi, keeps the program going at Willow Hill Psychiatric Facility, until Wednesday and Uncle Fester team up to set the outcast prisoners free. Wednesday personally helps one of the women escape – could she be Ophelia?

In previous episodes, Morticia says that her sister went mad due to her psychic visions and was sent to Willow Hill, but she’s been missing ever since.

Taking to X/Twitter, one fan theorized, “What if this lady is Ophelia Frump! Wednesday’s aunt and Mortica’s sister that went crazy and was sent to Willow Hill Psychiatric Facility and they said she is missing for 20 years! While the family thought she escaped, she was a part of an experiment!”
Another said, “Calling it now. Ophelia is obviously the mystery patient, but I think she’ll also be Part 2’s big bad. She’s the one meant to kill Enid and it’s ‘Wednesday’s fault’ because she was the one who saved her.”

Others believe the mystery woman could be Tyler’s mother. “I think this woman might be Tyler’s mother, could be Ophelia Frump too but I don’t know, I’m leaning more towards Tyler’s mother,” said one.

Another isn’t so sure, writing, “The girl Wednesday finds in that basement is clearly Ophelia Frump, they’ve been talking about her for four episodes, she’s not Tyler’s resuscitated mother.”
And then there are those who are convinced Gaga is playing Ophelia, despite Netflix’s confirmation that her character is Rosaline. “I think Gaga’s gonna play Ophelia on Wednesday,” wrote one.

A second said in response to the patient, “I think she’s important but not Ophelia, I still think Lady Gaga could be Ophelia.”
Lady Gaga to drop a Wednesday song
The Wednesday Season 2 soundtrack is already strong, but it’s getting an addition in the form of a new track written by Lady Gaga for the show. The song, titled ‘Death Dance’, isn’t expected to drop until next month.
Insiders told The Hollywood Reporter that ‘Death Dance’ will be accompanied by a music video directed by Tim Burton. Sources also said it will be released in September, no doubt to coincide with Part 2’s arrival.

It’s a bit of a full circle moment. If you remember back to Season 1, Jenna Ortega’s ‘Goo Goo Muck’ dance went viral online, with fans recreating the moves set to Lady Gaga’s ‘Bloody Mary’. It soon caught the attention of Gaga herself, who dropped a TikTok of her taking part in the trend.
