We’re now on the road to the release of Black Ops 7, scheduled for November 14th. The latest entry in the long-running franchise aims to reinvigorate the multiplayer in some interesting ways, while also bringing out Call of Duty’s more futuristic elements. That last bit won’t be everybody’s liking (as indicated by Infinite Warfare’s reception), and another important issue the title will need to address is the many wacky skins Call of Duty seems to have developed an affinity for in recent years. Franchise purists are known to detest these whimsical Operators, while other fans appear to have no issues. All this begs the question: Will Black Ops 6 skins transfer over to Black Ops 7? So, here’s everything you need to know.

Will Black Ops 7 Have Skins from BO6?

The short answer is yes, BO6 skins and Operators will indeed be transferred over to Black Ops 7. This is due to the Carry Forward program returning for BO7, meaning your purchased bundles and cosmetics from Black Ops 6 will be present in the upcoming title. However, the official Call of Duty blog did mention that there will be a few exceptions to the rule.

In case you’re wondering if Black Ops 6’s many crossover skins, such as the Beavis and Butt-Head and American Dad Operators, will be available in Black Ops 7, the answer appears to be yes.

On the subject of crossover skins, here’s what Activision’s senior director of comms, Stephanie Snowden, had to say: “When it comes to cosmetics, we have a very broad community to serve with lots of different interests and tastes across game modes. We are paying attention to that, but we also need to do right by our players.“

Black Ops 7 Carry Forward Explained

The Carry Forward program in Black Ops 7 will bring over a “wide variety of content from BO6.” At launch, XP Tokens and GobbleGums (Zombies) from Black Ops 6 will be available in BO7. Weapons, Operators, and Operator Skins will also carry forward at the start of Season 1 with some exceptions:

  • Equipment and Scorestreak Skins for content unavailable in Black Ops 7 will not carry forward.
  • Equipment and Scorestreak Skins for content updated for Black Ops 7 (for example, a Scorestreak that performs similarly, but has a different look and feel in BO7 compared to BO6) will not carry forward.
  • Black Ops 6 Weapon Camos will not be transferable to Black Ops 7 weapons, but still usable on Black Ops 6 weapons.

Alongside the transfer, you can also expect to see Black Ops 7 weapons be integrated into Warzone at the start of Season 1, which should bring significant changes to the meta.

We’ll likely hear more about BO6 content being carried forward to Black Ops 7 in the coming weeks, so be sure to bookmark this article. With that said, are you looking forward to the game? Be sure to let us know in the comments.
