The Philadelphia 76ers are at the end of their rope.

After a 24-58 season, one of the most disappointing finishes in recent memory, the Sixers should be trying to improve their team in any way they can.

With former MVP Joel Embiid entering his age-31 season, who knows how much time he has left as a top player in the NBA, especially given his injury concerns. Philadelphia should be pushing their chips in to try and see if they can win a championship and finish what “the process” started.

76ers Trade Idea Lands Giannis Antetokounmpo

If Philadelphia wants a shot at winning the NBA Finals this season, they need to pick up the phone and call the Milwaukee Bucks about trading for Giannis Antetokounmpo.

While he has yet to request a trade, there have been rumblings about it all Summer, and if the 76ers can put together the right package, Milwaukee should listen.

Bleacher Report recently put together a trade idea that would ship out the Sixers’ best asset for the Greek Freak’s services.

Philadelphia 76ers receive: Giannis Antetokounmpo

Milwaukee Bucks receive: Paul George, Jared McCain, a 2028 first-round pick (via LAC), a 2030 first-round pick and a 2032 first-round pick

While losing last year’s first-round pick in Jared McCain would be a tough pill to swallow, giving him up for one of the best two-way players in the world is an easy sell.

“Then again, if Embiid is flashing MVP form, maybe that’s reason for Daryl Morey and Co. to throw caution to the wind and try capitalizing on whatever remains of the big fella’s prime.” Wrote BR’s Zach Buckley.

“Losing McCain, the biggest breakout of the 2024 draft class despite having his rookie year cut short, would sting a lot and maybe qualify as full-on reckless if he was attached to these picks, but a clean bill of health may be all that an Embiid-Antetokounmpo-Tyrese Maxey trio would need to take over the NBA.”

If the 76ers want to maximize the end of Embiid’s prime, this is the trade they need to make to go all in for one last shot at a championship.
