Marvel’s resident attorney, Matt Murdock, is finally joining Rivals when Season 4.5 drops later this year. Known to many by his moniker of Daredevil, the fearless vigilante patrols the streets of New York using his heightened senses to hunt down wrongdoers. The Season 4 trailer displayed Murdock in unfamiliar surroundings, engaged in battle with an Asgardian Angel. The character more than holds his own, and the sequence provides us with a look at his design, combat abilities, and more. On that note, here’s everything we know so far about Daredevil in Marvel Rivals, including the character’s expected release date.
Marvel Rivals Daredevil: Expected Release Date
Daredevil will join the Marvel Rivals roster when Season 4.5 kicks off. The ‘.5’ updates are typically released at the mid-way point of the ongoing season, meaning it should start on October 12, 2025.
Leaks had been hinting at the character’s arrival for months, including one concrete report which emerged at the tail-end of August. Courtesy of serial leaker ‘XOXLEAK’ on X, it essentially confirmed Daredevil’s introduction by revealing datamined voicelines that reference the character. In conjunction with this, previous leaks have even hinted at the masked vigilante possessing some kind of enemy detection ability, which would certainly be lore-accurate.
Teasers linked to Daredevil were also hiding in plain sight, as Marvel Rivals director, Guangguang, recently confirmed that the mysterious figure in ‘Nowhere Else to Run’ Gallery Card was Matt Murdock all along.
Marvel Rivals Daredevil: Expected Abilities & Role
Next to nothing has been made official about Daredevil’s abilities and role in Marvel Rivals. But based on the fact that the character is a skilled brawler and can instinctively triangulate his enemy’s positions, it only makes sense for Daredevil to be a Duelist.
This might draw a few groans from fans since the game is overstuffed with DPS characters, but since Angela (the Season 4 launch character) is a Vanguard, and making Daredevil a support character is illogical, we’re looking at another new Duelist.
The only leaked information surrounding his abilities points to some sort of visualization mechanic, which takes advantage of Daredevil’s superhuman senses and lets him picture the battlefield. Again, details on this are scarce, so there’s no telling what such an ability would look like in action. The leaks also mention an X-shaped downward attack — my guess is as good as yours on what this could end up being.
Based on the trailer, Daredevil will likely be equipped with a dash that lets him dart out of harm’s way. His offensive arsenal will be composed of furious punches and complemented by strikes of his signature baton. There’s also a chance of the baton granting him some maneuverability by turning into a grappling hook when required. What we’re essentially looking at is a lethal, close-range Duelist, potentially on the same wavelength as Iron Fist.
