Kaliyuga is a direct sequel to the story of An Ancient Epic. After the ancient asura warlord, Mahabalasura, unsealed the doors to heaven, it shattered the divine equilibrium and plunged all the realms into endless war. Kaliyuga takes place in this state of turmoil, as Raji and her brother Darsh have to fight their way through the nine realms (lokas) to reach the Eternal Summit.
The major gameplay changes seen in Kaliyuga start with the perspective change from isometric to the third-person view. Next, Darsh is now a playable character in Raji: Kaliyuga, and he uses Siddhis or supernatural powers to control elements, gravity, and energy.
