There might never be another Marshawn Lynch in Seattle, but Kenneth Walker III did his best impression of the Seahawks great early in Super Bowl 60.
Walker, who totaled more than 100 scrimmage yards in each of the Seahawks’ first two playoff games, was just about the only functioning piece of Seattle’s offense in the first half against the New England Patriots, ripping off a pair of long runs as the passing game struggled.
Playing without Zach Charbonnet, who tore his ACL in the divisional round, Walker proved he can be a workhorse much like Lynch was during two runs to the Super Bowl in Seattle, and he did something Lynch never did by earning Super Bowl MVP honors.

Walker rushed for 86 yards on 12 attempts in the fist half, adding one catch for six yards. He also committed a costly drop on third down in the second quarter.
While he wasn’t as dominant in the second half, Walker remained effective enough for the Seahawks to hold on and finished with 161 scrimmage yards on 29 touches.
The fourth-year running back jumpstarted the Seahawks’ second scoring drive of the game, ripping off runs of 30 and 29 yards early in the second quarter to put Seattle in the red zone. While the Seahawks were unable to capitalize with a touchdown, due partly to a couple of runs for a loss by Walker, they extended their lead from three to sick with their running back’s help.

Lynch was surprisingly ineffective in Super Bowl 48, which the Seahawks totally dominated for a 43-8 win over the Denver Broncos, but he was a workhorse for Seattle in a painful Super Bowl 49 loss to the New England Patriots.
Lynch rushed for 102 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries in the loss, also adding 31 yards on a reception, though his performance would be overshadowed by the Seahawks’ decision to take the ball out of his hands at the one-yard line on the play that became Malcolm Butler’s iconic interception.
Walker easily has Lynch’s Super Bowl 48 performance beat, and his 135 yards beat out Lynch’s 102 on the ground from Super Bowl 49. Just as Lynch did in Super Bowl 48, Walker got a chance to lift the Lombardi Trophy after Super Bowl 60.
