The teaser image for the Chapter 7 Season 2 map changes featured multiple new POIs, with a shard of the Zero Point taking center stage. Here’s a breakdown of every new POI players can expect.
The Ice King’s Castle
Possibly the most interesting part of the Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2 map changes is the Ice King’s castle. In the teaser, players can see a massive castle in an area covered with snow. While this could be seen as just another ice biome, the castle seems to be adorned with decorations that hint at a connection to the Ice King from Chapter 1 Season 7.
This map change ties into the ongoing storyline, as the recent Fortnite OG Ice King event featured the return of the character with a remixed look. Additionally, the Ice King was also present in the Love and Legends event teaser, where he was seen fighting alongside the Dark Voyager, further cementing a storyline connection.
Coral Castle-inspired POI
Another map change hinted at by the teaser features a POI that seems to be a more damaged version of the Coral Castle POI from Chapter 2. The POI seemingly features a lot of ship wreckage, alongside a lighthouse that isn’t functioning properly. It isn’t clear how this map change will tie into the storyline, but the presence of the Zero Point shard suggests it will definitely have a role to play.
Desert Biome POI
Finally, the POI we know the least about is the mysterious location in the Chapter 7 desert biome, possibly replacing the Painted Palms location. It isn’t clear whether this POI will just be another addition to the Fortnite Chapter 7 map or a complete overhaul of the northeast corner of the map.
