The Miami Heat have one of the most promising rosters in the league. They already have plenty of star-level players with All-Stars like Norman Powell, Tyler Herro, and Bam Adebayo. However, they have a much better squad than their star trio because they also have the promising Kel’el Ware.
Even the players agree that Ware is one of the most promising players on the roster. Powell himself has gushed about what he is seeing from Ware in his sophomore season. He only joined the Heat for the 2025-26 season, but he is already seeing flashes of brilliance in Ware.
Norman Powell sees Kel’el Ware as a generational talent
As a player who has gone from being a bench player to being a true All-Star this season, Powell has experience playing with tons of awesome talents. This includes names like Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, and Damian Lillard. Now that he is with the Heat, he is well aware of recognizing elite talent.
He sees that with Ware, who is only a second-year player, but he is already getting some well-deserved plaudits. Ware deserves the praise because he is a unique talent at 7’0″ with an awesome skill set, including his athleticism and reliable three-point shooting.
In the Heat’s latest game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, Ware played 20 minutes but still got a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds. He knocked down three three-pointers, too, without a miss. With that kind of impact, Ware can continue to be a solid player for the Heat moving forward.
“He has the type of game. We’ve seen it multiple times this season, so it’s good that coach trusts him to put him in and play him extended minutes in that fourth quarter,” Powell said about Ware’s impact after the Cavaliers game.
“The plays he made, cleaning up, contesting shots, alternating shots at the rim, rebounding, spacing the floor. He’s a good generational talent; it’s just about his mindset every single day when he steps on that floor.”
As the Heat progresses with their season, they could recognize the value of having Ware on the floor. He can work with almost any lineup, even alongside Adebayo in the same frontcourt. It is up to head coach Erik Spoelstra to recognize that, but that is a bit iffy, given their dynamic this season.
