Los Angeles Lakers star forward LeBron James had an interesting comparison for the Philadelphia 76ers heading into the 2026 NBA playoffs.
Since you never know what you’re going to get from the Sixers in terms of star availability, James compared the team to Harvey Dent’s Two-Face character from the Batman comic books.
LeBron James compares 76ers to Harvey Dent’s Two-Face
Fans of The Dark Knight movie should be very familiar with this character.
“I give them kind of like the Harvey Dent, Two-Face vibe,” James said of the Sixers during a recent episode of his Mind the Game podcast.
“Which [Sixers] are we going to get? When they’re rolling, when Embiid is playing. He’s in the mid-range, he’s on the low block, he’s motivated. You know, Maxey is burning down the highway, you know, playing on the Autobahn, shooting the step back threes, getting into the lane. PG, silky smooth. They have the ability to put up 140 on you in any given night, 145, and you get them to buy in defensively? They can make headlines.”
When it comes to elite talent, James knows that the Sixers have that in spades. It’s just a matter of all their key contributors being healthy and available at the same time.
“You look at what Paul George can do on a basketball floor–three-level scorer–paint, mid-range, threes, defend. Obviously, Joel Embiid, MVP-caliber type of player anytime he’s healthy and on the floor,” James said.
“Tyrese Maxey, he could very well be a first-team All-NBA guy on any given year the way he’s been playing. And a young talent [VJ Edgecombe], who will be maybe First-Team All-Rookie? Then vets, you know, Kelly Oubre, and some of those guys are playing good ball.”
It’s clear that James respects the Sixers, but now that the playoffs are upon us, he won’t have to worry about facing them again unless his Lakers meet up with Philadelphia in the NBA Finals in a rematch of the 2001 Finals. That seems pretty unlikely, but hey, crazier things have happened.
