The 2026 NFL offseason has, for the most part, finished. With the NFL Draft and free agency in the rear-view, the roster is mostly set, as is the case with the New York Jets.
That doesn’t mean they can’t make moves, as the Jets signed Breece Hall to a large $43.5 million contract extension over the next three years.
After signing that extension, Hall was asked about the Jets’ offense in 2026. And according to ESPN’s Rich Cimini, Hall had some high praise for the offense.
“Just the fact that they brought a proven veteran in like Geno,” Hall said, “and then we drafted some really good guys, [it’s] letting me know, ‘OK, we’re really trying to build something here.’”
Hall is clearly looking forward to what this offense can put on the field in 2026. But should Jets fans feel this confident and excited as well? Even though there are a lot of questions about this offense, on paper, it’s a solid roster worth believing in.
Why Jets fans should believe in the offense like Breece Hall
Hall is a good starting point, as he’s one of the best dual-threat running backs in the NFL, and should be a huge help for the offense in putting up some solid numbers this year.
At quarterback, Geno Smith was a decent trade pickup, even though he struggled last year for the Las Vegas Raiders. He had a ton of success with the Seattle Seahawks, and if he rediscovers that production, he could be one of the best QBs the Jets have had in a while.
The receivers for Smith might be the best supporting cast that a Jets QB has had in a long time. Hall factors into this game, as will tight ends Mason Taylor and 2026 first-round pick Kenyon Sadiq.
But the true highlight is the wide receiver room. Garrett Wilson is a good number one, while Omar Cooper Jr. is a fun number two. Add in Adonai Mitchell and the speedy Arian Smith with a few other nice depth options, and this WR room is in good shape.
And there shouldn’t be any concerns about the offensive line either. Olu Fashanu is a good left tackle, Armand Membou is elite at right tackle, Dylan Parham resolves the left guard spot, and Joe Tippmann at right guard and Josh Myers at center are plus starters.
This offense for the Jets features a good offensive line, two good tight ends, an elite dual-threat running back, and a few receivers worth getting excited about.
If Smith can be a decent starter, this offense has what it takes to be great, which has been hard to come by for the Jets in recent years.
