The debate surrounding whether Drake or Kendrick Lamar came out on top in one of hip-hop’s biggest rivalries isn’t going away anytime soon.

Now, Giannis Antetokounmpo has weighed in with his own opinion. The NBA superstar appeared on a recent livestream with content creator N3on, where he was asked about the long-running Drake-Kendrick debate. While Antetokounmpo made it clear that he’s a fan of both artists, he admitted he listens to Drake more often and believes the Toronto rapper ultimately changed the narrative after releasing three albums earlier this year.

Giannis says he prefers Drake’s music

When asked whose music he enjoys more, Antetokounmpo didn’t hesitate.

“I listen to more of Drake,” Giannis said. “I like Kendrick too.”

That led to the inevitable follow-up question: Who won the feud?

Rather than giving a simple answer, the former Milwaukee Bucks star acknowledged that Kendrick appeared to have the advantage when the battle first unfolded.

“I feel like, in the beginning, you say Kendrick,” Antetokounmpo said.

But Giannis believes the conversation shifted after Drake released three albums at once.

“But those three albums that he released, have you listened to all of them? Oh my goodness, oh my goodness.”

Drake’s three-album rollout impressed Giannis

Antetokounmpo was referring to Drake’s ambitious release of Iceman, Habibti and Maid of Honour earlier this year. The surprise triple release marked Drake’s first major solo projects since his highly publicized lyrical battle with Kendrick Lamar and dominated music headlines upon its release.

For Antetokounmpo, those albums were enough to change his perspective on how the rivalry played out. While he stopped short of declaring an outright winner, his comments suggested Drake regained the upper hand by flooding fans with new music after the feud.

Fans continue to debate Drake vs. Kendrick

The rivalry between Drake and Kendrick Lamar remains one of the defining stories in modern hip-hop. Many fans still argue Kendrick won based on the diss tracks exchanged during the feud, while others point to Drake’s commercial success and continued output as evidence that he bounced back stronger than ever.

Antetokounmpo has now joined that conversation, making it clear where he stands. His comments are already generating discussion online, with music and basketball fans reacting to the NBA star’s take on one of entertainment’s most polarizing debates.
