Anthony Edwards is a spectacle of swagger, a blaze of bravado.
But on a night where he led the Timberwolves to one of the best wins of his career, the young superstar showed respect to a rival player before speaking on anything else.

“He might be the best basketball player I’ve ever seen close-up, besides myself to myself,” Edwards continued praising Nikola Jokic. “He’s incredible bruh.”
This comes after the Nuggets’ center dropped 61 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists in a double-overtime game that was decided in literally the final fraction of a second.
Edwards had an impressive game in his own right, dropping 34 points, 10 rebounds, and 8 assists. Over half of his points came in the fourth quarter and overtime.
But Ant made sure to give credit to his teammates too. In the postgame interview with TNT, the young star called over Nickeil Alexander-Walker, who hit the game-winning free throws to finish the 58-minute contest.

“Whatever I did it don’t matter,” Edwards said. “What he did, he’s the MVP tonight.”
Minnesota’s leader is known for his self-confidence, but his comments after an exhausting battle showed maturity. Not only did he recognize his supporting cast, he also paid a high compliment to an opponent he has faced many times.
