Argentina football legend Diego Simeone has achieved some great feats during his near-15-year tenure as Atletico Madrid manager so far.
However, his two La Liga titles, two Europa Leagues, two Champions League final appearances and one Copa del Rey so far could pale in comparison to 2024-25, if things go Atleti’s way.
Simeone’s side are once again in a very tight three-horse race for the league title with Barcelona and Real Madrid, while currently battling the former in a two-legged Copa semifinal and preparing to meet the latter in the last-16 of this year’s UCL.
And as has been pointed out online, Atletico are now in the midst of an eight-week run that involves THREE meetings with Barca and THREE with their city rivals Real.
Also Atleti are just coming off a 1-1 draw with Real Madrid on Feb 8.
They’ll end up playing Barca 3x and Real Madrid 3x across an 8-week span. Goodness gracious.

If they do emerge from the above run of games with three pieces of silverware, Diego Simeone will go down as one of the all-time great managers, for certain.
And if they even get just one, Atletico Madrid fans will still be extremely proud of how this season has done amidst some challenging spells and big tests.
