The top 20 most-played Steam Deck games of August have been revealed, and Black Myth Wukong has made its way to the top spot.
For Steam Deck owners, the start of a new month can only mean one thing: the chance to take a look at the most-played Steam Deck games for August 2024.
For the past two months, Elden Ring has held on to the top of the Steam Deck’s most-played games list. The Shadow of the Erdtree DLC only solidified its dominance over its competitors, but now Black Myth: Wukong has knocked it down a notch.
Black Myth: Wukong is now number one Most played Steam Deck game in August 2024surpassing not only Elden Ring, but also hugely popular titles like Baldur’s Gate 3 and Balatro.
The role-playing game developed by Game Science has amassed over 3 million concurrent players across all platforms and has even surpassed 10 million units sold. It’s no surprise that some of that success has translated to Valve’s portable console.

Instead, thanks to the introduction of the all-new Steam Deck list in June, we can track the most-played Steam Deck games in real-time.
The most played Steam Deck games of August also sees Black Myth: Wukong join the list. Despite only being released on August 20, the game still managed to get noticed among Steam Deck players.
Fields of Mistria also makes the list. Coming in at #14, the Stardew Valley-inspired farming simulation RPG managed to rank higher than both Red Dead Redemption 2 and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition.
With the success of Stardew Valley on Deck, it’s no wonder that Field of Mistria is slowly gaining popularity on handheld consoles.
Fields of Mistria is also still in Early Access. Despite this, it has received a fully verified recommendation from Valve. It may be a while before it reaches a higher rank than Stardew Valley in the list.
Cult of the Lamb has moved up 25 spots and now sits in ninth place, between Grand Theft Auto V and Slay the Spire. The game recently received new content with its massive “Unholy Alliance” update, which likely led to the return of many Deck players.
Overall, the Steam Deck top 20 hasn’t changed much, despite some new and returning titles. Games like Grand Theft Auto V and Vampire Survivors are still among the most played games on Steam Deck.
