In the latest edition of ‘Activision Did What?,’ Black Ops 6 and Warzone now require players to submit their age before accessing the game. The age verification measure was tucked into a recent patch, and failing to comply with this requirement can result in your account being deleted.

As spotted by many users online, the verification pops up after booting the Call of Duty launcher. It asks for the player’s birth date alongside a statement which reads ‘This requirement will help us ensure positive community experience for all players.’ Ignoring this message results in an account deletion warning, as seen in the Reddit post shared below. The words ‘Parental Consent Required’ sit at the top of the screen, accompanied by a countdown to the account’s deletion. The warning also features a comment that reads, ‘To prevent account deletion, please get parental consent by November 10, 2025.’

It’s obvious why this verification measure has been put in place. Despite being infamous for lobbies filled with edgy 13-year-olds who can chuck an encyclopedia’s worth of insults, Call of Duty is by no means a game made for kids. Black Ops 6 is rated PEGI 18 with advisories for blood and gore, coarse language, gratuitous violence, and more. Ideally, individuals below 18 should steer away from the title, but we all know that’s not the case.

The in-game age verification requirement does little to dispel underage players since it can be countered quite easily. Users are free to input any date they want since the game doesn’t ask for ID authentication, meaning it’s a security measure as effective as using a cheese puff to bolt a door closed. And frankly, we all prefer it that way — nobody wants to hand over their driver’s license for Activision’s approval.

It remains to be seen if these measures end there, or if more verification checks are planned for future updates. With that being said, have you encountered the age requirement message? Be sure to let us know in the comments.
