Boston Celtics superstar Jaylen Brown took over last night against the Detroit Pistons, where he led the C’s to victory, 130-120, with 28 points. Brown was asked if he felt like he had more responsibility as a facilitator with superstar teammate Jayson Tatum being out, to which he credited his growth as a player.
“I think it’s also just (a) credit to my development. I have improved on things. A lot of my weaknesses in the past, I’ve attacked, (and) to run a team and an offense is something, I look forward to those moments.”
Brown continued, saying he tries to facilitate more when his ball-dominant teammates are out, he tries to work the others in.
“We don’t see it as much, because we got a lot of guys that are ball dominant, and are really good players, so…tonight, I was trying to get my teammates involved”.
To his credit, Brown’s right. If Tatum is playing, Brown only averages 2.7 assists per game. When Tatum’s out, he averages 3.6 assists per game.
Tatum is expected to be back for the game against the Milwaukee Bucks tomorrow at 7:30pm EST, so Brown will drop back to the second option until his team needs him again.
