The Boston Celtics have reportedly been shopping Jaylen Brown and Derrick White. At the very least, teams around the league are inquiring about both players, and it’s possible that one of them could be traded over the next few weeks.
If the Celtics truly want to take a gap year next season, it might require them to move on from some of their top players and focus on the future.
Moving on from Brown would be a very tough decision, as he’s done plenty for this organization, including winning a Finals MVP just a year ago.
However, some have suggested that he could be traded, including Bleacher Report, which recently linked him to a deal with the Houston Rockets. This would pair him with Kevin Durant, whom the Rockets recently acquired in a blockbuster trade with the Phoenix Suns.

If the Celtics were to move on from Brown, they’d have to ensure they get the best possible package in return.
The days of sending players to where they want to play are over, and while he’s done plenty for this franchise, Boston has to worry about its future.
If the Rockets give the Celtics what they’re looking for, they should consider taking it. If not, there’s no reason to consider moving on from one of the better players in the league.
