The Kansas City Chiefs could use a relentless edge rusher who’s exceptional at utilizing swim moves and hand swipes to disrupt opposing teams’ passing attack.

An ideal trade target may have just fallen into the Chiefs’ lap.

“Trade off (Maxx Crosby to the Baltimore Ravens for two first-round picks due to medical issues),” ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Tuesday night. “Las Vegas (Raiders) had initially agreed to trade the five-time Pro-Bowl DE to Baltimore in exchange for 2026 and 2027 first-round picks.”

With Crosby back on the Raiders, for now, ESPN’s Louis Riddick believes that the Chiefs are among the organizations that should be monitoring a blockbuster deal for the ‘pissed off’ five-time Pro Bowl DE.

“(Philadelphia) Eagles, (Buffalo) Bills, (Chicago) Bears, Chiefs … all have to be taking a look at this Crosby situation,” Riddick stated on X/Twitter Tuesday. “And, how does this change the market for Trey Hendrickson? Huge ramifications.”

On Wednesday, Riddick went into further detail about why the Chiefs and several other franchises should inquire about Crosby this offseason.

“GM’s (general managers) with a good relationship with Raiders GM John Spytek and a good medical/training staff/strength and rehabilitation staff about to make a deal for a now pissed off All-Pro DE that a single team decided it doesn’t want to pay the price for his services that they originally agreed to. Cool,” Riddick said.

“One man’s loss, another man’s gain. Maxx about to go off in ‘26. Named a few teams last night that are going to/should be trying to cut a deal. Exceptional opportunity.”

It’s likely Crosby is frustrated that he’s still a member of the Raiders’ lackluster organization. With the Ravens, Crosby would have been presented with an opportunity to compete for Super Bowls.

Although the 28-year-old’s health (he’s recovering from a significant knee injury suffered during the 2025-26 season) may concern Kansas, they shouldn’t eliminate themselves from the Crosby sweepstakes.

The 10-sack edge rusher would do wonders for the Chiefs’ pash rush going forward, giving them motivation to keep the door open for a potential mind-blowing trade for the former fourth-round pick.
