On Tuesday, Golden State Warriors fans’ worst nightmare came to life against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Dubs, who advanced to the Western Conference semifinals after defeating the Houston Rockets in a scrappy seven-game first-round series, hope to make an early statement by beating the Timberwolves on the road in Game 1.

However, with superstar guard Stephen Curry suffering a hamstring injury late in the second quarter, it’ll be challenging for the sixth-seeded Warriors to achieve that feat.

After what appeared to be a routine runner in the lane, Curry began limping and immediately asked to be removed from the contest.

The four-time NBA champion then hobbled into the locker room, and shortly after, ESPN’s Shams Charania announced that Curry would miss the remainder of the clash due to a left hamstring injury.

On X/Twitter, a Doctor of Physical Therapy provided curious fans with discouraging information regarding Curry’s recovery timeline.

“Stephen Curry was diagnosed with a ‘hamstring strain,” Dr. Evan Jeffries wrote. This is worst-case scenario in a playoff series. Typical timeline of healing is: Grade 1: 7-10 days, Grade II: 3-6 weeks.”

Hopefully, Curry will only have to endure a Grade 1 strain, and considering he’s a tough-minded stud who can play through immense pain, there’s a good chance he will return to the hardwood if he isn’t dealing with the latter.

Curry’s game-changing shooting ability, playmaking off the dribble, and leadership from the point guard position are needed for the Warriors to reach the Western Conference finals for the first time since 2022.

Curry should receive an update on his injury status soon.
