It has already been two years since the Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC was released, so fans cannot wait for the Elden Ring adaptation to come sooner. Sadly, there is no official release date for the Elden Ring movie as of yet. The movie has just entered production and will continue shooting for a couple more years before it is officially released.
The movie’s scale is massive, and we expect it to be released at least a couple of years down the line. Epic movies like The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring took around 2 years in production alone. Our educated guess is that the Elden Ring movie will be released sometime in 2028.

Alex Garland is directing the Elden Ring movie adaptation, working alongside A24 films to bring the beloved game into reality. He is known for his work on Ex Machina and Annihilation. Alex has revealed that he is a massive fan of the Elden Ring game.
According to rumours, he created a 160-page draft with 40 extra pages of images to convince Bandai Namco and FromSoftware to land the job of directing the movie. Hopefully, he will be able to achieve a faithful adaptation, like the Fallout TV show adaptation done recently.

What Will be the Elden Ring Movie Storyline?
Elden Ring has one of the most expansive stories in gaming, having multiple layers of lore. It is considered one of the best works of both George R.R. Martin and FromSoftware, so the core fanbase is expecting a lot from the Elden Ring movie. Sadly, we also have no information about the movie’s storyline yet. But if the story is faithful to Elden Ring, we will likely get the tale of Marika and her ascension to power. That sounds like an ideal way to tell a story of the Lands Between.
Doing so will also mean that characters like Godwyn would also get a lot more screentime compared to the game. The fan favourite characters, Radahn and Morgot (or Margit), will also take centre stage, among other demigods. We should also get to see the love story between Radagon and Rennala, alongside Marika’s relationship with Godfrey.
