The Cleveland Browns are coming into the 2026 NFL Draft with some very clear needs, at least on both sides of the ball. While more cornerback and edge rusher help could be on the table, the Browns’ biggest needs are on the offensive side of the ball.
Andrew Berry needs to add help at two key positions on offense: Wide receiver and offensive line, and specifically, offensive tackle. Tight end depth is also worth looking at, but OL and WR are by far the biggest needs.
With such needs, ESPN analyst Ben Solak is urging the Browns to not just draft a WR and OL, but to double-dip at both positions, landing not just starting-caliber players, but depth at both spots as well.
Browns urged to take multiple OL and WR in 2026 draft
“Draft multiple offensive linemen and multiple receivers, unless safety and defensive tackle fall your way in the middle rounds,” Solak writes.
While Solak isn’t calling on the Browns to operate with reckless abandon and force themselves to draft multiple wide receivers and offensive linemen, if the Browns can realistically draft multiple of each position, it’s something worth exploring.
There will be plenty of focus on the Browns’ early-round picks, at No. 6, 24, and 37 in the first two rounds. Add in picks 70, 107, 146, 149, 206, and 248, and the Browns should have plenty of chances to take WRs and OL in the draft.
Looking at first-round options for offensive linemen, Francis Mauigoa, Spencer Fano, Kadyn Proctor, and Monroe Freeling are a few names to keep in mind in the early portion of the draft.

Wide receiver has Carnell Tate, Jordyn Tyson, and Makai Lemon as the top-tier options in this year’s draft, with plenty of interesting options like Denzel Boston, Zachariah Branch, KC Concepcion, and Omar Cooper Jr. down the board.
Cleveland is eyeing wide receiver and offensive line upgrades in this year’s draft, and Solak is urging Berry and company to go after multiple players of each position.
With a shallow WR room and a completely overhauled offensive line, adding multiple players at both positions makes a lot of sense.
This strategy would work for the Browns and would certainly be welcome news for Shedeur Sanders or whoever the starting quarterback is for the 2026 NFL season.
