Forza Horizon 5 is finally coming to PlayStation, marking the first ever Forza game to come to the platform, meaning it’s vital you know all the editions, features, and, of course, when it releases.

PS5 release date
Forza Horizon 5 will release for PlayStation 5 on Tuesday, April 29, 2025.
It will be available for download on all editions of the PlayStation 5 and will be a disc-less release.

Each edition will offer you the base game, while the Deluxe and Premium will offer the Car Pass, a way to get free cars while you play, and a variety of additional features for the Premium edition.
And, if you preorder the Premium, you’ll be able to play the game five days early on April 25.

Will it have crossplay & cross progression?
Yes, when it drops on PlayStation, Forza Horizon 5 will have full crossplay capability with other platforms, meaning you’ll be racing against players on PC and Xbox if you head into an online match.
If you’re looking to play with friends on other platforms, this will be entirely viable regardless of whether you’re on PlayStation or otherwise.
Note that while there is cross-play, cross-progression isn’t available, so you’ll be starting your driving adventure anew on PS5.
Online play explained
Given that Forza Horizon 5 is primarily an online open-world game, if you want to race with other players, then you’ll need a PSN subscription. However, you can play Forza without a subscription, you’ll just be racing offline instead.
PlayStation players will be required to have a Microsoft account, and you’ll need to sign in to your Microsoft account to play Forza Horizon 5, regardless of whether you’re playing online or solo.

Once you dive into Forza Horizon 5, the first thing we recommend you do, after the game’s tutorial, is to just hit the open road and explore.

Forza Horizon 5 is, at its core, an open-world racing game, so you’ll need to unlock a few good cars before you fully settle into the adventure. We recommend grabbing a variety of vehicles with different racing styles and rankings when you first dive in.
Some races you’ll take part in will have different ranking rules, for example, in certain races, you can only use vehicles ranked D, so having one of those that’s suped up is an ideal shout.

Finally, just head out there and race as much as you can. Perfecting your races against bots or just newer players is pivotal and will allow you to thrive in any situation you find yourself in around Mexico.
