Valorant Episode 9 hints at new Agent 26, codenamed Silver Thumb, following Clove’s arrival midway through Act 8. While details remain scarce, teasers offer a glimpse into their potential role.
Valorant’s new agents are highlighted through hidden clues scattered throughout the game. These can take the form of player cards, emails, or agent voice lines, and this time around, it’s no different.
To help you keep up with the teasers, below is a summary of everything we know about Agent 26 so far.
When will Valorant Agent 26 be revealed?
Like any agent, the new one will be revealed during the final weekend of a VCT event, meaning their reveal will take place around August 23rd.
This falls in line with the final weekend of Valorant Champions 2024, so if you want to take a look at the new agent, be sure to tune in.
As for the release date, there is a good chance that agent 26 will be in episode 9, act 2which will go live right after the Champs Grand Final, so we are pretty close to their arrival.
What is the role of Agent 26 in Valorant?
Riot has yet to confirm, but leaks have suggested that the role of Agent 26 will be that of an initiator.
This is perhaps not too surprising given that the last three Agents released, Deadlock, Iso, and Clove, were all non-Initiators, so we’re getting another one.
However, due to the vine theme and item grabbing visuals, players have also speculated that they could be a Sentinel.
Take this information with a grain of salt as the developers have not yet confirmed their role.
Valorant Agent 26 Teasers
The trailer for Episode 9 Act 1 hints at the Agent’s abilities, depicting a scene from pointed roots emerging from the ground, which combined with the pink player card could hint that Agent 26 has a trap ability that could trap the player.
Valorant’s Episode 8 finale revealed “Abyss,” a map closely tied to the mysterious Hourglass organization. The trailer gives a glimpse of a figure awakening in a pod, potentially foreshadowing Agent 26’s origins.
Valorant Emails Give Insight Into Agent 26’s Origin
The “Hourglass” is talked about a lot more throughout the emails and voicemails left by other agents to Brimstone, the leader of the agent organization.
Disappear
“Brimstone! Brimstone, it’s Fade. When you told us about this place, I thought maybe this is where he’d been all this time. But no! There was no sign of him in the cells; there’s nothing! Nothing! You live until you’re forgotten, don’t you? I’ll keep looking.”
Skye
“We need to get samples from this Hourglass base to the lab, okay? Because I’m in the south wing, and there’s this… ‘flora’ there. Brimstone, I’ve spent enough time out there to know that these things aren’t native to our Earth. I mean, it almost looks… no… I’m going to take out Gekko, call me back.”
Iso
“It’s me, I found a cool blade in one of the Hourglass chests. I’m taking it. I asked KJ if it was safe and she said yes. Plus, uh, it’s obviously a knife.”
Wise
“I met with Cypher and Omen earlier to review Hourglass’ archives, or what’s left of them. Cypher explained how their security system wiped all personnel files and how physical documents were damaged during the shooting. Omen took the news badly, as you expected. I left him with his thoughts after the meeting. I think that’s what he wanted.”
From these messages from the current Agents, we can deduce that they are searching for an Agent, referred to as “he/him”, in the vicinity of Abyss and this Hourglass agency. We can also conclude that Omen has a possible connection to the new Agent, as indicated by the inclusion of the player card and Sage’s message.
Agent 26 is still in the early stages of leaks and may not receive any further teasers until after Episode 9, Act 1. We’ll keep this space updated as more information is released.
