After that explosive Season 2 ending, fans will be happy to know The Diplomat Season 3 is already in development at Netflix. (Warning: spoilers ahead!)

The Diplomat might be the hardest-working political drama on Netflix right now. With 173.46 million hours viewed after the premiere of its first season, the streaming service has quickly worked to keep the show on top.

Season 2 arrived in October 2024, bringing about the shock reveal that the attack on the HMS Courageous had come from inside the house. If that wasn’t enough, the second season ended with the unexpected death of President William Rayburn, who died from a heart attack after learning the news.

That’s a lot to take in, and it leaves the door open for some major political plays in Season 3. Luckily, the wait might not be as long as you think.

Is there a release date for The Diplomat Season 3?

There’s no confirmed release date for The Diplomat Season 3, but there’s good news: it’s already been greenlit, and new episodes have already been filmed!

That’s pretty unprecedented, since Season 2 only just aired on Netflix on October 31, 2024. In fact, the Season 3 announcement arrived three weeks before Season 2 even premiered.

In the current landscape of shows being canceled left and right, that’s an incredible indicator of just how much the streamer has faith in its political thriller.

When the announcement was made, Netflix also confirmed that new episodes were being filmed in London and New York City, so progress is well underway!

Series creator Debora Cahn told Variety: “After an amazing summer shooting in the U.K., we brought London home to New York. Best of both worlds—filming in Brooklyn. We love doing this. We’re so excited to get to keep going.”

Thankfully, the gap between The Diplomat Seasons 1 and 2 was blissfully short at only 18 months. Considering production is already going ahead for Season 3, it wouldn’t be unreasonable to expect new episodes on Netflix in early 2026.

How many episodes will Season 3 have?

Creator and showrunner Debora Cahn has confirmed there will be eight episodes in Season 3.

Fans of the show will have noticed that Season 2 dipped down to six episodes instead of repeating Season 1’s eight. As Cahn revealed to TVLine, that drop in episodes was initially her choice.

“[Netflix] was not happy. They wanted the full eight. I was really tired. It was a time thing.”

She added, “It felt like there wasn’t enough time to turn around eight of them. It was a lot to do in what appeared to be a short period of time.

“Had we known it was going to be a year and a half before we got back on the air, it would’ve been different. Season 3 will be eight episodes.”

The Diplomat Season 2 is available to stream on Netflix now.

The John Wick anime is taking our favorite hitman into another medium, as we learn more about his mysterious past.

A John Wick anime movie was first announced in 2023, and since then we haven’t heard much about the project. Chad Stahelski, creator of the franchise, has been tight-lipped about the new movie beyond the fact it’ll be a prequel.

Such a prospect is enticing, since the Keanu Reeves-led property already borrows so liberally from anime shows. Since The Continental, Ballerina and Under the High Table are all live-action, it’s intriguing to see the hitman jump to another medium.

But what do we know? Who’s making it? We’ve checked in with our contacts, and here’s what we can tell you.

What is the John Wick anime?

The John Wick anime is a prequel movie showing at least part of the mission that allowed the titular hitman to walk away from being a hired gun. It’s currently in development under the watchful eye of Stahelski, per an interview in The Hollywood Reporter in October 2024.

John Wick anime movie plot

The John Wick anime movie will show the “impossible task” that meant John could leave the mercenary business behind and settle down. The particular hit he fulfilled has been discussed in the franchise before, but never beyond vague details, but now we’ll hear more.

Helen Wick in John Wick

Besides unveiling that shrouded part of his background, we’re also likely to get more about his romance with Helen, the woman who inspires him to leave crime behind. Portrayed by Bridget Moynahan in the first film, expect her to play some sort of role in the story here.

What studio is making it?

We don’t know who is making the John Wick anime or directing it yet, but Stahelski is well-versed in the industry so it’s likely to be someone exciting. He handled action choreography for Lazarus, the new TV show from Cowboy Bebop director Shinichirō Watanabe premiering in 2025.

Keanu Reeves in John Wick 4

Going by that alone, he’s got strong connections in the anime space, and since everything John Wick goes through him, whomever is in the director’s chair will know their stuff. “As the director of all four films, I was the guy that came up with the mythology, and I was in charge of the tone, so that’s where that title came from,” Stahelski told THR.

“I’m the gatekeeper, but everyone is welcome. Nothing has really changed in the creative process; it just filters through me.”

Does the John Wick anime have a release date?

There’s no release date for the John Wick anime movie yet. All details are currently quite vague, but since Stahelski has been talking it up, more info is coming very soon.

While we wait, have a look at our guides to Solo Leveling Season 2, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle, and My Hero Academia Season 8 for major releases bowing in 2025.

Festival of the Lost 2024 is right around the corner, and here’s everything you need to know about Destiny 2’s upcoming seasonal event.

Starting back in 2015, Festival of the Lost has been a long-running Halloween event that celebrates the spookiest time of the year. It has become a tradition in Bungie’s looter shooter, giving players the chance to farm unique loot, cosmetics, and more every year.

It returns this year, once again providing a range of exclusive weapons, armor, and other rewards for you to get. Here’s everything you need to know about Festival of the Lost 2024 to help you prepare for the event as it edges closer.

Start date and end date

Festival of the Lost 2024 will start on October 29, 2024, and will run for three weeks before concluding on November 19, 2024.

You can expect the event to get underway following the weekly reset at 5pm UTC, which will be one of the following times depending on what timezone you are in:

  • Pacific Time (PT): 10:00
  • Eastern Time (ET): 13:00
  • British Summer Time (BST): 18:00
  • Central European Summer Time (CEST): 19:00
  • Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST): 03:00

New and reprised weapons

The only new weapon added in Festival of the Lost 2024 is Arcane Embrace, an Arc Shotgun, and the first-ever Heavy Burst frame. This new archetype fires a hard-hitting, two-round burst, providing plenty of firepower if you can keep it under control.

However, the update will also introduce a variety of reprised weapons from past events, with Acosmic, Jurassic Green, Mechabre, and Horror Story all being given refreshed perk pools.

Here’s a full breakdown of all the new and reprised weapons added in Festival of the Lost 2024, including the perks you’ll be able to farm on them:

New armor

Festival of the Lost will introduce three new armor sets, one each for Hunter, Titan, and Warlock. These are all inspired by wizards and will be earnable by partaking in the event’s activities, though there will also be premium versions available in the Eververse Store for Silver.

Official concept art showing what these will look like was revealed back in the Revenant Act 1 reveal stream, where the following designs were showcased:

The theme of these designs was voted on back in January 2024, when the community decided it wanted Evil Wizard designs for Hunter and Warlock but a Good Wizard design for Titan.

As such, the armor for Hunter and Warlock is heavily inspired by witchcraft and dark magic, while the new Titan armor lends itself more to traditional wizards and the good guys of the magic world.

All event masks

Festival of the Lost 2024 adds eight new masks to the game for players to use while they farm candy and loot. The new masks that you can look forward to using are as follows:

  • Cayde-6 Mask
  • Cursed Thrall Mask
  • Finalized Ghost
  • Kadi 55-30 Mask
  • Nezarec Mask
  • Marathon Runner Mask
  • Tower Staff Mask
  • Witness Mask

Festival of the Lost 2024 activities

The main draw of this year’s event will be the return of Haunted Sectors, modified versions of existing Lost Sectors that feature a range of Halloween-themed enemies, including the Headless One boss.

By playing these, you’ll be able to earn Eerie Engrams, which can be used to roll for and focus the weapons from the event. This will be your best way to farm the god rolls you want and make the most of Festival of the Lost 2024.

More details on what this year’s event will have to offer are expected in a TWID before the event begins. We’ll be sure to update this article when we know more about it, so be sure to check back frequently.
