The release of Call of Duty Black Ops 7 will bring some interesting changes to Warzone, ranging from mechanical tweaks to some modifications for the classic Verdansk Battle Royale map. These changes exist outside of the standard integration procedure that will see BO7’s futuristic weapons join Warzone’s ever-expanding arsenal. The move aims to streamline the title and tighten its focus while looking ahead at the future.

If you’re interested in learning more about these changes, here are all the new features coming to Warzone with the release of Black Ops 7:

Easily the biggest new addition to arrive alongside Black Ops 7 is the Haven’s Hollow Warzone Resurgence map. The map shares its Appalachian setting with Liberty Falls and even features POIs inspired by the town’s main street as well as the mansion from Shattered Veil. In terms of size, the map is described as smaller than Fortune’s Keep but bigger than Rebirth Island.

New POIs Coming to Verdansk

The iconic Verdansk map is receiving a couple of new Points of Interest to spice things up. These include:

  • Factory: Reimagined as a rocket manufacturing facility, the POI shares its layout with its Warzone ’84 counterpart. The redesign makes its interiors visually distinct, allowing for easier callouts. Factory sits right next to Superstore, immediately making it an alternate landing option if the hot drop gets too hot for your liking.
  • Signal Station: Nestled near the Military Base, Signal Station is a radar complex that can provide gameplay advantages if you arrive in time. By taking control of the station, you’ll be handed a secondary objective. After completing it, you’ll receive the Heap Map, a strategic upgrade to the tac map that displays grid-style player density across Verdansk.

Both POIs will be released alongside Black Ops 7 Season 1, which will likely arrive in early December.

Warzone Gameplay Updates

Following the release of Season 1, Warzone will receive major gameplay changes that look to make weapon attachments across BR and multiplayer more distinct, while also encouraging greater Perk variety in builds. Here’s every gameplay change you can look forward to seeing:

  • Weapon Attachments: Warzone is reverting to five attachments, meaning you can no longer use up to eight attachments using a Wildcard. Weapon tuning is also being differentiated across the Multiplayer and Warzone to make attachments feel more distinct. Overkill is now applied by default, so you can carry two primary weapons from the jump.
  • Movement: Tac Sprint will no longer be available by default in Warzone Season 1. To use it, you’ll need to equip the Sprinter perk. Additionally, the Combat Roll for Black Ops 7 will join the BR as part of the Mountaineer Perk.
  • Equipment: New equipment, such as the Echo Unit Field Upgrade, the Needle Drone, and the Pinpoint Grenade, is joining Warzone.
  • Perks: Perks have been readjusted across the board, with some also receiving buffs to encourage players to try out new abilities.

New Warzone Blackout Experience Coming in 2026

The rumors were true: Warzone is all set to receive a new big map experience inspired by Black Ops 4’s beloved Blackout. The game mode will take place on the Avalon map that was teased in Black Ops 7’s reveal trailer. Parts of this map will also be available in the Endgame co-op mode, which is present in BO7’s single-player campaign. Warzone Blackout will arrive sometime in 2026, and that’s about everything we know so far.

And those were all the new features coming to Warzone with the release of Black Ops 7. Are you excited for the future of Warzone? Be sure to let us know in the comments.
