The Browns were officially eliminated from playoff contention on Sunday, losing 27-14 to the Steelers.
On the heels of throwing two pick-sixes a week earlier against the Broncos, Jameis Winston picked up where he left off throwing two more interceptions – the second proving costly after the Browns recovered a fumble at midfield on the previous drive.
On the ground, Nick Chubb failed to make an impact in his first game in Pittsburgh since last year’s devastating knee injury, while Dustin Hopkins missed two makeable field goals that could have kept the game alive.
Now at 3-10, the Browns find themselves amid another forgettable year – their 18th 10-loss season since rejoining the league way back in 1999.

To no one’s surprise, the Browns now hold the record for the most 10-loss seasons during that same period – adding insult to a period that has been marred by Deshaun Watson drama on and off the field.
While fans of long-suffering franchises like the Jets struggle to empathize, Browns fans have endured 21 losing seasons during those 25 years since rejoining the league – made even more disappointing after making it as far as the Wild Card round last year.
In comparison, the Steelers have enjoyed 15 10-win seasons during that same time frame and are well on their way to securing another AFC North crown, their first since 2020.
If you’re a Browns fan, the season probably can’t end soon enough. Cleveland heads back home to face the Chiefs next Sunday, with two division road games in Cincinnati and Baltimore still ahead.
Having posted three seasons of 14 losses or more – those being in 1999, 2016, and the infamous 0-16 year in 2017 – sadly, the Browns might not be done making history just yet.
