The Pacers shot 67.1 percent from the field, breaking the record for best shooting performances in NBA Playoff history. by basketball reference. The previous mark was 67.0 percent, set by the Celtics against the Knicks in 1990.
It was clear from the jump that while OG Anunoby and Josh Hart were starters, they weren’t completely healthy. New York’s defense was sluggish and Indiana took advantage, shooting 76.2 percent from the field and 77.8 percent from 3-point range in the first quarter.
While the Pacers didn’t keep up that pace during the second half, they kept it up long enough to set a new record. The Knicks briefly cut their deficit to just seven points in the third, but finished the quarter trailing by 17.
Injuries finally caught up with the Knicks. Jalen Brunson, who had been battling a foot injury, broke his hand and Anunoby played just five minutes before being ruled out.
Donte DiVincenzo led all scorers with 39 points and nine 3-pointers. Alec Burks scored 26 points and made 8 of 13 shots.
Tyrese Haliburton led the Pacers with 26 points, and Andrew Nembhard and Pascal Siakam scored 20 points each. Aaron Nesmith scored 19 and Myles Turner scored 17.
Brunson finished the game with 17 points on 6-of-17 shooting in 29 minutes.
The Pacers advance to their first Eastern Conference Finals since the 2014 playoffs and will face the No. 1 seed Celtics.

17:47: There are still seven minutes left to play, but the feeling is that this game has gotten out of hand. The Pacers lead 112-97 and the Knicks are left without almost everyone.
17:40: Brunson has been ruled out for the remainder of the game with a broken left hand, according to NBA insider Chris Haynes.

End of the third quarter: Pacers 101, Knicks 84
17:32: After all that, the Knicks finished the quarter trailing by 17, two more points than halftime. The Pacers are shooting 70 percent from the ground and 57.9 percent of 3. Brunson returned to the locker room, according to Stefan Bondy of the New York Post.
17:27: That Knicks run early in the second half has completely died down. Hart commits his fifth foul with 2:36 left in the third quarter. Indiana leads by 19.
17:23: Wow, Hartenstein hands the ball over and immediately fouls Nesmith to allow the and-1. That’s four fouls on Hartenstein.
17:21: The Pacers are on a 7-0 run, bringing the lead to 14 points.
17:16: Indiana forces consecutive turnovers and converts on the other end. The lead rises back to 12 after dropping to seven.
17:10: DiVincenzo reduces the lead to eight. His triple brings the game to single digits.

5:06 pm: The Knicks cut the lead to 11 with 10:01 left in the third quarter.
5:03 pm: We’re back for the second half. The Knicks make a stop to start the game, but Anunoby is out for the rest of the game.

16:46: Siakam blocks Brunson’s layup attempt to end the first half. The Pacers led 70-55 at halftime. Indiana is shooting 76.3 percent of the field and 66.7 percent of 3.
16:45: Anunoby did not play for the rest of the first half. I’m not sure what his status will be heading into the second half.
16:35: Hartenstein commits his third foul of the day with just a few minutes left in the second quarter. He is not good for the Knicks going forward. Precious Achiuwa will need to play big minutes.
16:33: Just as the Knicks cut the lead to 14, the Pacers quickly responded and pushed the lead back to 19.
16:26: Alec Burks is doing everything he can to keep the Knicks alive in Game 7. He has nine points on 4-of-4 shooting.
16:22: The Pacers’ lead is 22 early in the second quarter. This is quickly getting out of hand – the Knicks can’t stop it.
16:13: The efficiency has been filtering down until the second quarter. The Pacers have missed only five shots in the entire game. Indiana leads 45-27.

4:03 pm: Oh my goodness, Haliburton is a must! The Pacers go on an 8-0 run in the final 1:28 and lead 34-22 with 2:03 left in the first quarter. Haliburton has 11 points with three 3-pointers.

15:58: The challenge is successful, so there is no fault against Haliburton.
15:54: Things are getting a little complicated in the first quarter. DiVincenzo, Siakam and Hartenstein had some words with each other, causing James Johnson and some players to leave the bench. Indiana had called a timeout to challenge a call, so the players were allowed to leave the bench.
