Since its release, Fortnite’s Blitz Royale mode has become insanely popular, solidifying its position as the most played experience. A total of 32 players compete against one another in this quick-paced, no-build battle royale game that was created with mobile gamers in mind.
The map is small and includes well-known POIs like Pleasant Park and Retail Row. With five-minute encounters, Blitz Royale offers intense action and, at its peak, attracted over 443,000 concurrent players, outperforming both Zero Build and conventional Battle Royale modes. From Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to Avatar: The Last Airbender, its weekly themed updates keep the gameplay interesting with new weapons and mechanics, which contribute to its enormous appeal on all platforms.
Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney has hinted at making Blitz Royale a permanent fixture, bolstering fan demand for its longevity. The mode is now prepared for a massive event, with streaming icon Tyler “Ninja” Blevins directing a Blitz Royale takeover that includes his special Blitz Boss Ninja persona and five new epic weapons, such as the Trash Launcher and Get Good Shotgun.

Fortnite x Ninja Blitz Royale Takeover Event Start Time and How to Join
The Ninja Blitz Boss Takeover for Fortnite’s Blitz Royale mode kicks off on August 2, 2025, at 4:00 PM ET (1:00 PM PT / 9:00 PM BST / August 3, 2025, 1:30 AM IST), following a Dragon Ball-themed event at 3:00 PM ET.
As per Ninja, the takeover is expected to last until August 11, based on the average duration of Blitz Royale’s weekly themed upgrades and the arrival of Chapter 6 Season 4.
According to Ninja, each day a different loot pool will appear in Blitz, where Ninja will pick the pool for one day, and the player community will choose the loot pool on other days by voting on Ninja’s X handle, Twitch, and YouTube channels during his live streams.
To play the mode, ensure that Fortnite is up to date on your platform — PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, Android, or iOS. Open the game, navigate to the “Discover” tab in the main menu, and select the “Blitz Royale” playlist, which will showcase the “Blitz Boss” variant with Ninja skin on the cover.
