The New York Giants’ 2025 offseason workouts are in the books, and if one thing became overwhelmingly obvious after all the on-field work, it’s that the Giants have a pass rush that could lead this team to a lot more wins than analysts are projecting right now.
In fact, the Giants could end the 2025 season with the best pass-rushing unit in the NFL.
Brian Burns, Kayvon Thibodeaux, Abdul Carter, and Dexter Lawrence? Forget about it.

“This pass rush could be a game-changer,” The Athletic’s Dan Duggan wrote. “The Giants have lacked an identity during the first three years of the Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll era. There has been nothing the team could rely on to give it an advantage, and the result has been a combined nine wins over the past two seasons. That may have changed this offseason. The defense was upgraded by the free-agent signings of cornerback Paulson Adebo and safety Jevon Holland. But the selection of outside linebacker Abdul Carter with the No. 3 pick in the draft could be a game-changer. Teaming Carter with Dexter Lawrence, Brian Burns and Kayvon Thibodeaux should give the Giants a pass rush capable of dominating games.”

Indeed, there’s a chance the Giants could pluck from this plethora of talent and make a trade-dealine trade. The most likely candidate to be sent out of town is Thibodeaux, who, while talented, hasn’t proven himself worthy of reps over Burns, nor should he cap the upside of Carter, the third-overall pick of the 2025 NFL Draft.
It’ll be a while before any trades are made, and if the New York Giants get off to a hotter-than-expected start in 2025, general manager Joe Schoen might look to keep this fearsome foursome together for the long haul.
