That’s no longer the case, as the Galaxy are primed not only for a finish near or at the top of the Western Conference, but a deep playoff run as one of the top 2024 title contenders as well.
Since their 2014 MLS title, the Galaxy have reached the postseason in just four of their nine seasons and failed to advance past the conference semifinals.
Now, they are back near the summit of not just the West but the entire league, poised to secure the top spot in their conference if they can hold serve on the final day of the season. Even a slip would see them fall only as far as the No. 2 seed, still in a strong position for a deep run.

LA Galaxy tickets for Round 1 playoff matches are available on StubHub.
While the club does not yet know its opponent, it’s guaranteed to host Game 1 of the matchup, so fans can go ahead and snag their seats now. The get-in price for that first playoff match is currently $50 for seats in the corner. Seats along the end line are going for around $60, while anything along the sideline are going for $80 or more.
Prices will likely increase once the playoff bracket is set.
Who does LA Galaxy play in 2024 MLS playoffs?
The LA Galaxy does not yet know its opponent for Round 1 of the MLS playoffs. Regardless of outside results, a point or more against the Houston Dynamo on the final day of the regular season would see them secure a Round 1 playoff berth against the winner of the Wild Card matchup.

The only way the LA Galaxy can botch their place at the top of the standings would be the combination of defeat to Houston, an LAFC win against San Jose, and the Galaxy squandering their two-goal differential advantage. If the two sides finish level on points and goal differential, the Galaxy would go through on goals scored, so LAFC must overtake them in that department to finish ahead.
Round 1 of the MLS playoffs will begin Friday, Oct. 25 and conclude Sunday, Nov. 10. It will be a best-of-three series, using a 1-1-1 format for hosting rights. The LA Galaxy would host Game 1 and, if necessary, Game 3 at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California.
