The NBA season is fast approaching and excitement is building for the season opener between the Celtics and Knicks on October 22.
Adding to the excitement, fans may have gotten a glimpse of their favorite teams’ new jerseys for the 2024-25 season on Tuesday night. A reported leak of the new City Edition jerseys on social media showed (potential) new threads for all 30 teams.
City Edition jerseys have become an annual addition to NBA teams’ uniform cycles over the past few seasons.
Here’s what to know about the potential NBA City Edition jersey leaks, plus a look at some of the best and worst uniforms teams could wear in 2024-25.

Photos of all 30 teams’ new NBA jerseys circulated on X, formerly known as Twitter, Tuesday night. Rumors pointed to the images as the new City Edition jerseys for the 2024-25 season.

While there has been no confirmation from the NBA or Nike, who manufacture the league’s jerseys, the style of the leaks appears to be similar to that of the previous City Edition jerseys. There is little reason to doubt the authenticity of the leaks due to the unique style, as well as the Nike and NBA patches on each.
The 30 jerseys unveiled are very varied and have an original look. However, while fans on social networks were satisfied with some models, others displeased them.
The Best and Worst City Edition Jerseys We’re Talking About
Assuming the City Edition jersey leaks are legit, let’s take a look at some of the best new styles fans were talking about — and some of the worst.
The best
One of the favorites appears to be the Raptors’ potential new jersey, which features an all-black look with the retro-looking dinosaur logo that Toronto has used in previous uniform designs.
The dinosaur also wears the number 15 and is in the middle of a between-the-legs dunk, a tribute to Vince Carter’s Raptors days, which heavily influenced the culture around the franchise.

Another nice look came from the Pistons, who appear to be sticking with basic but clean cream-colored City Edition jerseys:

The Magic’s uniform also made a strong impression. With a dominant white color, gray stripes and a star replacing the “A” in “Magic,” Orlando strayed from its usual blue, but it worked.

Finally, the Suns have consistently offered strong new looks in recent years. That continues into the 2024-25 season, as they will likely debut purple “The Valley” jerseys with an orange star in the middle.

The worst
Among the team uniforms that NBA fans didn’t like Tuesday was that of the defending champion Boston Celtics. It’s a basic look for Boston, with few distinctive elements, and some fans have drawn comparisons to their practice jerseys.

The Warriors’ City Edition jerseys haven’t been a huge success either. They look a bit like the jerseys the Pelicans and Nuggets have worn in the past.

Finally, one of the boldest looks leaked is from the Memphis Grizzlies, who traditionally stick to blue, black, white, and gray on their jerseys. Instead, it looks like Memphis has a bright red style on the way:
