Atlanta Hawks superstar Trae Young believes he could have been the scapegoat if he was 6’4″, according to the Millions of games podcast. He said this after talking about how tall players can play at the highest level because they are tall.
“If I was 6’4”, I think I’d be the greatest player to ever play the game,” Young said. “My mentality, the way I play, the intelligence that I bring to the game. I think I can bring a lot of things, but there’s a lot of gaps because I’m 6’2”. It’s tough, I play in a big man’s game.”
Trae is a multiple All-Star and averages 25.5 points, 3.6 rebounds, 9.5 assists and one steal per game. He is a multiple All-Star and has been named to an All-NBA team.
Would he be the GOAT if he was 6’4″? No, but he would definitely be an all-time great. With his offensive skills and his 6’4″ frame, he would be a hybrid of Magic Johnson and Steph Curry. His defense is atrocious, so he would have to work on that to be considered the GOAT. He also needs to win a championship, and he is stuck on one of the most mediocre teams in the NBA that simply cannot trade him.
