LaMelo Ball continues to add to an ever-growing list of reasons why he is one of the most entertaining athletes in the NBA.
While Hornets fans eagerly await Ball’s return to the basketball court, they were honored to see his first appearance on the golf course. As for the results? Let’s just say Ball might want to stick with his day job.
As the offseason progresses, Charlotte’s social media team shared content from a team golf outing where Ball was joined by teammates Tre Mann and Nick Richards, president of basketball operations Jeff Peterson and television commentator Dell Curry, among others.
With Ball on the microphone, hilarity ensued. Here’s more of Ball’s time on the field.

Following the trends, the text accompanying the video reads: “We know a golf course hates to see us coming.” Once the video started, it didn’t take long for Ball to let his personality shine through.
“I’ve never been this close to golf,” Ball told Peterson in the opening moments of the video. “Yeah, I don’t even think I should be in this type of game.”

As he was given a description of the course, Ball couldn’t believe the distance he was expected to hit the ball.
“Man, stop playing around,” Ball said. “Please don’t tell me you’re referring to where that little man is standing.”
Ball’s disbelief prompted his first swing, which no doubt caught the attention of NBA fans on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.
Not many people may be able to relate to averaging 23.9 points, 8.0 assists and 5.1 rebounds per game at age 22, but plenty of people understand the humbling feeling of struggling with the golf swing for the first time.
Throughout the rest of the video, Ball’s reactions to Mann and Peterson’s golf games were almost as entertaining as his own game. But what’s most important in all of this is the inside look at the level of chemistry being cultivated in Charlotte.
Ball may not have a future as one of the NBA’s top golfers, but he has shown signs of being one of the best players in the game. At least that’s what he has going for him.
