The Recycle Bin includes your deleted files. Of course, they aren’t actually removed until you empty them. paper bin; and you can always open it by clicking its shortcut on the desktop. However, it would be better to have a shortcut to the Recycle Bin on the taskbar so you can open it without minimizing windows. This is how you can add the Recycle Bin to the taskbar in Windows 10.
Create a shortcut to the Recycle Bin on the Windows 10 taskbar
- First, you need to right click on the taskbar to verify that Lock taskbar The option is not selected. If there is a check mark next to that option, click it to unlock the taskbar.
- Now, right click on your Desk and select New > Folder.
- Next, rename the folder. Recycle Bin.
- Drag the Recycle Bin in your folder called Recycle Bin to create a link (shortcut).
- Then right click on the taskbar again and select Toolbars >New Toolbar.
- Navigate to the Recycle Bin folder and then press Select the folder.
- Now, you should find a Recycle Bin context menu to the right of the taskbar as shown directly below.
- Then right click on Recycle Binmenu and click theShow textand Show title options so that they are not selected. That will leave just the icons on the Quick Launch toolbar.
- Right click on Recycle Binmenu again and select View > Big icons.
- You should now see a shortcut to the Recycle Bin on your taskbar that looks like the image shown below.
Since the Recycle Bin taskbar shortcut is located in the Quick Launch menu, you can reposition it by dragging the double arrow next to it left and right. Then right click on the taskbar and select the Lock taskbar option to consolidate the position of the direct access to the Recycle Bin.
This is certainly a useful shortcut to have on the taskbar. You can now open the Recycle Bin from the taskbar without having to return to the desktop.
