VSCO is short for “Visual Supply Company” and was created as a specialized app for photographers to showcase their work.
While VSCO is a great app with a very strong community, it’s definitely not for everyone. Its inclination towards contemporary art and photography makes it unsuitable for more casual users. And while the membership fee is reasonable, just $19.99 a year, it costs money to have a professional membership on the site.
If you’ve been using VSCO and decided it’s no longer the site for you, this article will show you how to delete your account.
How to deactivate your VSCO account
Deleting a VSCO account is, fortunately, very simple. However, before doing so, you may want to take some additional steps to ensure that your account information and content is deleted.
Let’s take a look at how to delete the contents of your account and deactivate it once and for all.
Delete your images from VSCO
The first step to actually removing yourself from VSCO is to delete your content. When you deactivate your membership, VSCO tends to keep your account information. So, to completely exit the platform, you must get rid of your content manually.
- Open the VSCO app on your device and make sure you are signed in.
- Select the face icon at the bottom right to access your profile.
- Select an image and tap the three dots icon at the top right.
- Select Delete to delete the image.
You may also need to delete images that other people have added to their collection.

- Select the “-” icon to remove it from the collection.
- Confirm your choice to delete it.
Since you have to delete each image manually, this process can take quite a while. However, if you want to remove yourself from VSCO completely, it is a necessary step.
Delete your VSCO account
Once your photos have been deleted, you have two options if you no longer want to use VSCO: you can deactivate your profile and leave it inactive, or you can deactivate it permanently.
To deactivate your VSCO profile:
- Log in to your VSCO account and navigate to this deactivation page.
- Select Deactivate VSCO profile and follow the assistant.
- Confirm the deactivation of your VSCO profile.
Deactivating your VSCO profile will remove your grid, collection, and journal from public view, but will leave your account intact. It will basically be inactive but still alive.
To deactivate your VSCO profile and account:
- Log in to VSCO and navigate to this page. It is the same page as the previous one.
- Select Deactivate VSCO profile and account and follow the assistant.
- Confirm deactivation of your VSCO account.
If you prefer to delete your VSCO account via email, you can:
- Send an email to [email protected] and add the subject “Delete my VSCO account.” This may take longer than doing it through the website.
Please note that deactivating your account does not actually delete it. You will no longer be able to access any resources you had or any purchases you made. (You may want to download all the resources you’ll need before doing so so you don’t lose them.)
You can reactivate your account by simply signing in again. This means that all you are doing by deactivating your account is preventing you from being able to use it. If you can reactivate an account, you must still be present in order to reactivate it. This is not ideal, from a privacy perspective, so if you really want to delete your account, you must first delete all your images.
