Spectre Divide has been released into closed beta on PC after a surprise launch, but will it be coming to console soon? Here’s everything we know.
On August 1st, Mountaintop Studios, with the help of Shroud, who helped out with the game, revealed Spectre Divide to the world.
A 3v3 tactical defusing FPS with body swap mechanics, it has been in development for two years and is of interest to a good number of Shroud fans.
However, with its closed beta on PC well underway, you might be wondering if Spectre Divide will ever come to console. Here’s what we know.
Do Spectre Divide developers have any plans for consoles?
Yes, they do, but a console version of Spectre Divide is still a long way off as they are focusing on the PC version.
In their FAQ page on their Discord channel, the developers wrote: “We will be PC-only at launch, but console versions and controller support are both planned for post-launch.”
Mountaintop Studios’ Spectre Divide Console Port Won’t Be Coming Anytime Soon
This also means that if you’re more comfortable with the controller, you’ll have to wait a while after the full game releases for the game to support the controller.
As for when Spectre Divide is expected to exit beta and launch in its full version, that’s unknown, as Mountaintop Studios has yet to reveal when the game will be released in its full version.
Also, if you’re wondering if you can also play Spectre Divide on Mac or Linux, you should know that it’s only available on Windows at the moment.
So, for the foreseeable future, Spectrum Division will be exclusive to PC. Considering how long it takes to port games to console, using Valorant as a recent example, it can take years for a full console version to take shape.
As the game is currently in closed beta, you can check out our guide on how to participate.
