Boston Celtics star forward Jayson Tatum has been named the favorite to win the NBA Finals Most Valuable Player Award, according to BovadaTatum finished second for the award last year behind teammate Jaylen Brown.
Last year, it was argued that Tatum could have been the Finals MVP, as he averaged 22 points, eight rebounds and seven assists in the Finals. Tatum also led his team in points, rebounds and assists in the 2024 playoffs. The reason he didn’t win the Finals MVP was his poor shooting percentage, as he shot 26 percent from three-point range, where he took the majority of his shots.
Tatum will certainly try to do better this year, as his controversy with Team USA should push him to play to the best of his ability, both in the regular season and in the playoffs. Tatum wasn’t the only one affected by Team USA, as Brown was also snubbed from the roster and wants to show how wrong they were not to take him.
With that in mind, the sports betting world views the Celtics as easy players to reach the Finals two years in a row, and Tatum will get the coveted award that critics mocked him for not getting the year before.
