Jujutsu Kaisen manga might stick to its dark themes till the end, as suggested by chapter 270.
Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 270 is the penultimate chapter of the series and it foreshadows one last mission that Yuji, Megumi, and Nobara will have to complete. The first-year trio has been through several ups and downs since the Shibuya Incident arc.
While Nobara’s status remained unknown and Yuji believed her dead, Megumi’s body was taken over by the King of Curses. Now that the King of Curses is finally defeated and the trio is reunited, all that’s left is to make sure the manga has a happy ending – or so it seems.
The title of Chapter 270 is “End of a Dream,” which hints at the end of the main trio. However, fans failed to notice the hint as it was lost in translation.
A popular JJK translator shares: “JJK 270 本誌 unrelated fun fact, but ゆめの is what the JP fandom calls Yuuji (yu), Megumi (me), and Nobara (no) as a trio, so the 夢(ゆめ)の終わり/” The title End of a Dream in JP also sounds like End of YuMeNo.
The translator adds: “I don’t particularly rely on theories, I’m just here to have a good time, but my sentimentality made me think of Gojo’s dream of resetting the world of jujutsu by educating students and sorcerers. It would be nice if this chapter represented the realization of that dream.”
Naturally, JJK fans have their own interpretations of what the title means. “I interpreted it as the end of Yuji, Megumi, and Nobara’s journey since JJK ends next week. Do you believe in any particular theory for the final chapter? And as always, thanks for the translations,” he wrote. a fan.
Another adds: “Fun fact. It’s unclear if this is referring to a bad ending or a delusional dream state. Probably not since they’re JJK fans being JJK fans, but I think it’s more of the trio’s conclusion in the next chapter since it ends there.”
“Wait until you find out that it was just a dream Tengen had and that’s why Megumi’s scar randomly disappeared and why everyone is suddenly alive except the people Yuji saw die with his own eyes,” speculates another.
