Manchester United are reportedly making huge strides toward appointing Ruben Amorim as their new head coach.
Following the departure of Erik ten Hag, the club are eager to secure the talented Portuguese coach, who currently manages Sporting CP.
Amorim has a contract with Sporting that runs until June 2026, but the Red Devils could benefit from a special clause in his deal. Recent reports suggest that Sporting have been planning to offer Amorim a new contract that includes multiple release clauses, making it easier for United to bring him on board.
The initial clause could set a Portuguese club back €30 million (£24 million). However, if a foreign team expresses interest, that figure drops to €20 million (£16 million). Even better for United, if one of Europe’s top clubs comes calling, the fee could shrink to just €10 million.
