In comparison, Ekitike’s £70 million fee feels more like a smart through ball than a hopeful long shot.

Arsenal see him as a backup option to Isak or Viktor Gyokeres. Meanwhile, United and Chelsea are still locked in a battle for Ipswich striker Liam Delap. If that deal collapses, both could pivot toward the Frenchman.
There’s just one catch — Frankfurt aren’t desperate sellers. Ekitike is under contract until 2029, and with Frankfurt looking to match or beat their previous record sale (Randal Kolo Muani), the bidding war might just kick off before the summer transfer actully begins.
