How to Find Your World’s Minecraft Map Seed
Luckily, finding your own Minecraft map seed is pretty simple. The process differs a bit on Bedrock and Java editions, but it’s still a breeze. So, follow the steps below to find out what your world’s seed code is.
Basic Edition
- Open the Minecraft world you want to get the source code from.
- Pause the game and click Settings.
- You will find the seed for your world’s Minecraft map under the Game Settings tongue.
Java Edition
- Inside the Minecraft world, press T to open the chat.
- Type the seed command, which is /seed and press Enter. This will reveal the card seed.
- Now press T again, hover over the green code and click to copy it.
- The seed command also works in survival mode.
Additionally, you can also see the seed code of a world when you select a world from the world selection menu and then click the Recreate button. Go to world options and the starting code will be displayed there.

On Java you can find a seed using the seed command if you are an admin and if you are not you can request the seed from an admin. On Bedrock download a copy of the realm and view the seed from settings.
