Manchester United have reportedly sealed the signing of Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain in a deal that could fetch up to £50.7 million ($66.8 million).
The move comes after weeks of negotiations and an agreement on personal terms in July, with the 23-year-old midfielder set to join the Red Devils after just one year in Paris.
Ugarte, who has always been keen to join Old Trafford, is expected to arrive in Manchester on Tuesday to undergo a medical and finalise the deal.
The Uruguayan midfielder only wanted United, and it seems United only wanted him.
Ugarte set to strengthen United’s midfield
PSG had initially demanded the full £51.1 million (€60m) they paid Sporting CP last summer, but the two clubs reached a compromise to get the deal done. The final agreement includes an initial £42.2 million (US$55.6m) plus an additional £8.5 million (US$11.2m) in performance-related bonuses.

Ugarte’s move to United was made possible by the recent sales of Facundo Pellistri to Panathinaikos and Hannibal Mejbri to Burnley, with Scott McTominay also expected to complete a move to Napoli.
Those departures have created much-needed space in Erik ten Hag’s squad for the dynamic midfielder, who led Ligue 1 in tackles last season despite starting just 21 games.
