Mark Zuckerberg has become an unlikely MMA fan, but his passion for jiu-jitsu has led him to rub shoulders with some of the biggest stars in mixed martial arts. Now, the Meta CEO frequents UFC events and has even cornered fighters.
Late last year, Zuckerberg suffered a torn ACL while sparring and subsequently underwent surgery to repair his injured knee.
It’s been nine months since surgery and Zuck shared a video on Instagram documenting his progress and recovery.
The video sparked reactions from several UFC stars.
UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones commented: “I love the recovery process. I should make a video like this.”
Former featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovsky, who has trained with Zuckerberg in the past, simply wrote: “He’s back!”
Media personality Nina Drama, whose real name is Nina Marie Daniele, joked: “Tell your investors you’re ready to get back on the mat! LFG Zuck!”
Zuckerberg clearly has the support of the mixed martial arts world, which can’t wait to see him back in top form and back on the mats.
The question is, will those rugs finally lead to the much talked about and rumored feud with fellow billionaire Elon Musk? That’s the update we all want to see.
