Taming animals is one of the fun things to do in 99 Nights in the Forest. You can tame animals found in the forest, and in return, they will follow you around like your best companions. Some of them can even protect you from other entities and deal a lot of damage. In this guide, learn how to tame animals in 99 Nights in the Forest, and why it matters in the game.

Steps to Tame Animals in 99 Nights in the Forest

You will need the Taming Flutes to tame animals in 99 Nights in the Forest. Once you have an Old Taming Flute, upgrade the Fire to expand the map. Once expanded, go and find any animal. We recommend taming a bunny first, as they are very cool-tempered. Once you reach an animal and step inside a green circle around it, a green bar will appear on the right side of your screen.

The taming bar is very similar to the fishing mechanics in 99 Nights in the Forest. You have to make sure that the red line is inside the highlighted green area of the bar. To improve the bar, you can get the Zookeeper class in 99 Nights in the Forest. You’ll need to repeat this multiple times, depending on the animals that you are willing to tame. We suggest you have some bandages in 99 Nights in the Forest, in case things go sideways.

After the first step is done, the animal will give a task to feed them. The food required depends on the animal and their anger level. For example, a rabbit demands a carrot, whereas a wolf demands two steaks. Feeding the animals will result in the completion of the taming process.

The Taming Flute can be found in the Domestication Cabin, located right next to your camp. Once the round starts and you spawn in the forest, look around. There should be a red coloured tent, with a pot. Inside the pot will be some Old Taming Flutes. You can upgrade the Old Taming Flute into a better one, about which we will talk later.

You can upgrade your Old Taming Flute inside the newly added Upgrade building near your camp. The building looks rusty, and inside it, you’ll find a fishing rod and a taming flute upgrade station.

If you notice, there is a yellow bar above the map icon. That bar indicates your Taming Flute XP. You can fill the bar by taming more animals. When the bar is full, it means that your Taming Rod is ready to be upgraded to the next level.

There are currently three levels of Taming Flutes: Old Taming Flute (Level 1), Good Taming Flute (Level 2), and Super Taming Flute (Level 3). Each level of Taming Flute can tame different animals in 99 Nights in the Forest.

Benefits of Taming Animals in 99 Nights in the Forest

Once you tame animals in 99 Nights in the Forest, their anger bar is replaced by a jolly bar, meaning that they are your pet. You can tame as many animals as you want. Once successful, they will follow you throughout your round until you die. Isn’t that cute? Well, other than the rabbit, all the animals can attack entities. However, this cannot be triggered unless the entities have attacked you at least once.
