Manchester City can close to within two points of Arsenal at the Premier League when they take on Newcastle United at the Etihad Stadium.
Arsenal’s surprise collapse from 2-0 up to draw 2-2 at Wolves in midweek means Pep Guardiola’s men are five points behind with a game in hand. Mikel Arteta’s league leaders play Tottenham in the north London derby on Sunday.
Familar foes Newcastle stand in City’s way. The sides have already met three times this season after a two-legged Carabao Cup semifinal and have also been drawn together in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
Eddie Howe’s men won the league encounter at St James’ Park before being beaten in each semifinal leg. However, Newcastle’s most recent league win away to City came back in 2000, when the Manchester club still play at Maine Road.

14 mins: GOAL! Nico O’Reilly hammers City into the lead!
Omar Marmoush has an incredible scoring record against Newcastle but he turns provider as City burst through the middle of the pitch. The Egypt international finds O’Reilly, who clashes a brilliant finish inside the near post. Nick Pope did get a finger tip on it, mind, and might think he should have done better.
