The 2024/25 Premier League season is off to a flying start with Manchester City once again topping the table with three wins from three games and the best goal difference thanks to Erling Haaland’s hat-tricks.
Arne Slot’s Liverpool are also level with Pep Guardiola’s side having won all three of their games, the last one against arch-rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford.
The only thing fans might notice is that there are no games scheduled for September 7, 8 and 9.

Why are there no Premier League games this weekend?
Premier League takes a break for the weekend September 7-8 due to a window planned for international meetings.
For most England players, the international break means swapping the Premier League for participation in the UEFA Nations League or qualifying for the 2026 World Cup, while others represent their countries around the world in friendlies. Those not selected for their national team will remain at their clubs to train.

When will the Premier League resume after the September international break?
It’s only for one weekend, so the Premier League will return with a full schedule on September 14-15.
