Looking for a way to recycle your old graphics card? One online store is offering a handbag made from a recycled GPU at a bargain price.
When your graphics card fails or becomes obsolete, it can be difficult to know what to do with it. Cards that are still functional may be suitable for a media machine or server.
The more creative types with access to the right tools might opt for something more ambitious, like a stylish handbag made from an old GPU.
An online retailer with the simple name of “GPU Wallet” has emerged online and offers an unusual range of handbags that primarily feature old graphics cards embedded in resin.
The main product listed by the seller is an old Nvidia GeForce GT 730. This obsolete GPU is far from a collector’s item, as it is commonly available second-hand through sites like eBay for as little as $20.

GPU Purses, however, took this old card and surrounded it with epoxy resin, then attached a pretty gold purse frame and a fancy gold chain to it to turn it into a fashion item. The result is a translucent purse with the electronics on full display.
The interior dimensions aren’t entirely clear, but the seller says it’s big enough to hold a smartphone.
The most surprising aspect of this unusual fashion accessory is its price. On the GPU Purses website, it is sold for $1,024.
Considering that a brand new, fully functional, modern graphics card like the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super can be purchased for just $799, the price tag on this stock is somewhat hard to accept.
The site also promotes a handbag with a high-end H100 AI accelerator chip. Although the GPU inside was almost certainly non-functional before it was even covered in epoxy resin, this handbag is listed with a whopping price of $65,536.
