The longest reigning female striking champion in ONE Championship history, Brazil’s Allycia Hellen Rodrigues, was set to take on Israel’s Shir Cohen in the main event of ONE Fight Night 29 in Bangkok Thailand on March 7th until the challenger suffered an injury in camp.
As a result, the United Kingdom’s top-ranked farang and the world’s tenth-ranked female at 52.5 kg (115 lbs), Marie McManamon, has signed with the promotion to take on Allycia with just one week to prepare.
On March 7th, 2025, (in the West; local time March 8th) Marie will make her first walk into the ONE Championship ring to take on a precipitous rise in opponent skill level.
Her own skills are nothing to scoff at, however, with her ability to use her long frame to deliver sharp elbows to opponents being one particular strength.
Rodrigues did not get to the top of her sport without being one of the best, but 364 days away from active competition since her last title defense will have fans watching to see if ring rust gives McManamon an advantage in the bout.
Despite a lone loss overall top the champ in the division above her, Smilla Sundell, Allycia is still undefeated in her own division in ONE with three title wins in atomweight Muay Thai – over Christina Morales, Janet Todd, and multi-sport superstar Stamp Fairtex.

As for McManamon, the Road Fighting Championship and 2022’s Female Victory League champion back home, the opportunity to go from local UK promotions to the biggest Muay Thai show in the world is an opportunity she could not pass up.
If Marie can upset the odds and take down the woman who will have reigned as champ for 1650 days on the day of the event, she will boost her profile to unprecedented levels and possibly change her life forever by winning a belt in the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium, one of the biggest cultural landmarks in the traditionalist world of Muay Thai.
