While the identity of Aqua and Ruby’s father still remains a mystery, Oshi no Ko season 2 revealed their half-brother.
At first glance, Oshi no Ko seems like a light-hearted drama about the entertainment industry. But the deeper you get into the story, the darker it becomes. The first time you realize this is when you meet Ai Hoshino, a popular teen idol who has become pregnant.
Ai never reveals the identity of her children’s father, even to those closest to her. While this is an intriguing enough mystery, it becomes even more so when the stranger orchestrates her murder at the hands of his obsessive fan.
Since that horrific incident, Ai’s son Aqua has been searching for his biological father to get revenge. However, finding the man proves incredibly difficult because he knows nothing about him. But in Oshi no Ko Season 2, Aqua finally finds a connection with him. (Warning: Spoilers ahead!)
Who is Aqua and Ruby’s half-brother in Oshi no Ko?
Taiki Himekawa is Aqua and Ruby’s half-brother in Oshi no Ko.
Doga Kobo
A famous and award-winning actor, he is introduced into the story during the 2.5D stage arc. He is one of the actors in the Lala Lai Company’s stage adaptation of Tokyo Blade, where he plays the protagonist, while Aqua, Akane, and Kana play Touki, Saya, and Tsurugi, respectively.
As the group prepares for their stage premiere, Aqua realizes that one of his co-stars is his half-brother and runs DNA tests on each of them. Towards the end of the arc, he learns that Taiki is the half-brother he is looking for and may know the identity of their shared father.
It is in this spirit that he reveals the truth to Taiki. The older man, in turn, reveals everything he knows about his parents. His father was Seijuro Uehara, a minor actor, who killed his wife and then himself when Taiki was a child.
This information leaves Aqua distraught as the man he has been looking for all this time is dead, meaning he can no longer avenge his mother.
They share a complicated family history
Unbeknownst to Taiki and Aqua, their real father is not Seijuro. As it is eventually revealed, the president of the Lala Lai Company Hikaru Kamiki fathered both of them.

Hikaru was orphaned at a young age and led a solitary life until he joined the Lala Lai company at the age of 10. It was there that he met Airi Himekawa, a famous actress and Taiki’s mother. But the woman lured him into a physical relationship and eventually conceived Taiki.
She lied to everyone that the child was Seijuro’s, while emotionally abusing Hikaru for years. At 15, he met Ai and eventually started dating her. However, she broke up with him before she found out she was pregnant.
The breakup took a huge toll on Hikaru’s already damaged psyche, prompting him to reveal the truth about Taiki’s birth to Seijuro. Upon learning the truth, the man killed Airi and then himself. After their deaths, Taiki was adopted by Toshiro Kindaichi, one of the founding members of the Lala Lai Company.
As Taiki was young when his parents died, he never knew that Seijuro was not his real father. He thought that the man was a cheater who got Ai pregnant out of jealousy of his wife’s talent and success.
Despite his connection to Aqua and Ruby, Taiki does not play a crucial role in the following arcs. After his stint in Tokyo Blade, he plays the role of Seijuro in Aqua’s film “The 15-Year Lie”.
Aqua won’t find out her biological father’s true identity until the Mainstay arc, which won’t be adapted into Oshi no Ko Season 2. But you can still pick up the manga to find out what happens next.
