There’s a lot to like about the Green Bay Packers, even if Jordan Love is expected to miss the team’s Week 2 clash against the Indianapolis Colts.
Green Bay won’t be at full strength against the Colts, but there’s still hope. The Packers have a chance to make a splash this year and have talent throughout their roster. One player who impressed in his first National Football League appearance was second-round draft pick Edgerrin Cooper.
Cooper made four tackles and was named a player who “deserves more shots” in Week 2 by Bleacher Report’s David Kenyon.
“Edgerrin Cooper recorded four tackles in his first game with the Green Bay Packers, and he’s poised to play a lot more,” Kenyon said. “You don’t have to take my word for it. “He certainly shined and made some plays,” head coach Matt LaFleur said of Cooper’s debut, per Wes Hodkiewicz of the team’s official website. “I expect him to see more time going forward.”
“Cooper, a second-round pick out of Texas A&M, has moved into a highly sought-after position in Green Bay. He just needs to pass Isaiah McDuffie on the depth chart to become a key piece of the Packers’ defense. Given that outlook, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Cooper occupy a top-tier position by the end of September.”
Green Bay can certainly win even without Love.
